The short version
- We collect what you give us (name, contact details, parish, profile) and what you do here (events, tickets, check-ins).
- Your parish leaders and the leaders above them can see your profile. Event organizers only see your name, gender and parish.
- We don't sell your information, show adverts or use tracking cookies.
- You can see, correct or delete your information. Write to support@yayahubdelta.com.ng.
1. Who we are
YAYA Hub is the online home of the Young Adults & Youths (YAYA) of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, run today by RCCG Delta Province 23 Young Adults & Youths (provincial headquarters: Amazing Grace). We decide how your information is used, which makes us its “data controller” under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
Questions or requests about your information: support@yayahubdelta.com.ng.
2. What we collect
What you give us when you sign up and use your profile:
- Account: your name, email address, phone number, gender and password (stored only as a secure one-way hash we can't read).
- Profile (optional fields): date of birth, address, city and state, education, school and course, occupation, when you joined the church, whether you're a worker, the departments you serve in and your skills, and a profile photo.
- Church: the parish you belong to (and so its area, zone and province), whether your parish leaders have verified your membership, and any transfer requests between parishes.
What is created as you use YAYA Hub:
- Events: the events you register for, your ticket (a QR code and an 8-character attendee code) and when you were checked in.
- Leadership: if you serve as a leader, the positions you hold, the reports you file (attendance figures, offering totals, notes, photos and documents), the announcements you publish and the changes you make.
- Notifications we send you inside the app, and a record of important changes (who changed what, and when) so that mistakes and misuse can be traced.
- Technical: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and standard server logs (such as IP address and browser) that our hosting providers keep for security.
We don't use advertising, tracking pixels or analytics cookies, and we don't buy information about you from anyone.
3. How we use it
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To connect you with your parish, so its leaders can verify you, care for you and share what's happening.
- To show you events you can attend, register you, issue your ticket and check you in at the gate.
- To let leaders run their units: member registers, transfers, event attendance, reports to the leaders above them, and statistics. Statistics are counts (for example “120 members, 64 women”), never lists of people.
- To send you notifications and the account emails you need (password resets, invitations). We don't send marketing emails.
- To keep YAYA Hub secure, investigate misuse, and meet our legal obligations.
4. Who can see your information
Access follows your place in the church, and the database itself enforces it:
- You see and can edit your own profile.
- Your parish leaders, and leaders of the area, zone and province above your parish, can see your profile (including contact details) when their role allows it. They use it to verify members and look after them.
- Event organizers see only your name, gender, parish and whether you registered and checked in. They don't see your phone, email, address or date of birth, even when you attend an event outside your parish.
- Other members don't see your profile. If you become a leader, your name and position are shown to the leaders you work with, and your name appears on announcements you publish.
- Super administrators appointed for YAYA Hub can see everything, to support users and keep the platform running. Every change they make is recorded.
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run YAYA Hub. They process information only on our instructions: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Vercel (hosting the website) and Resend (sending account emails).
We never sell your information or share it for advertising. We only disclose it to anyone else if the law requires us to.
5. Photos and shared links
Profile photos and event banners are stored at long, hard-to-guess web addresses so they load quickly on any device. Anyone who has one of those addresses can open that image, so please don't upload anything you wouldn't want seen. Your photo is resized on your phone before it is uploaded.
Photos and documents attached to reports are private: only the leaders who can open that report can see them, through links that expire.
When someone shares a link to a public event, people who aren't signed in can see the event's title, date, venue and host, never who registered. Events limited to a parish, area, zone or province stay private.
6. Where it is stored and for how long
Your information is stored by Supabase on servers in the European Union (Ireland), and the website is served by Vercel's global network. That means it leaves Nigeria. We rely on these providers' security commitments and contractual protections, as the NDPA allows.
We keep your account while it is active. Some records are kept longer because the church relies on them: leadership history, transfers between parishes, event attendance and reports filed by units. If your account is deleted, we remove your profile and photo and keep only what those records need.
7. Your rights
Under the NDPA you can:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct it (most of it you can edit yourself on your Profile page);
- ask us to delete it, or to stop or limit how we use it;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn't affect what we did before);
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere;
- complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Write to support@yayahubdelta.com.ng from the email address on your account. We'll reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm it's really you.
8. Young people
YAYA Hub is for young adults and youths. If you are under 18, please use it with your parent or guardian's knowledge and permission. Children under 13 may not create an account. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, contact us and we'll remove the account.
9. How we protect it
Everything travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. The database checks every request against your role, so each person sees only what they're allowed to, and important changes are recorded so they can be traced. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your password private and tell us straight away at support@yayahubdelta.com.ng if you think your account has been used by someone else.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and its date. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in YAYA Hub before it takes effect.
